About Megan

A UX designer with a passion for people and how they interact with the world.

In 2017 I graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a BA in Communication. In school I spent my time learning the ins and outs of verbal/ non-verbal communication, linguistics, marketing & the evolution of humans with technology.

UX has become the forefront of my career path. Since beginning General Assembly’s immersive UXDI course, my excitement to join the tech world has grown.

Working in Cheese!

Before UX, cheese design satisfied my itch for color and beauty.

No one ever thinks they will end up working in cheese after college. After joining the team at Cured LLC, I was inspired by the craftsmanship of cheese and after a year of hard work, I was promoted to lead trainer.

Introduction to Design

Hua Nui Farm needed a logo for their fresh squeezed juices.

Steph & Leila, the owners of Hua Nui Farm reached out to me about designing a logo for their tree farm in Hilo Hawaii back in 2018. It was the first time I had designed a functional logo for a real client and I fell in love. Freelance graphic design became a huge part of my path and lead me to pursue UX.

The Path Ahead in UX

Not only has UX allowed me to expand my design knowledge but it has enhanced my interest in understanding human behavior. My goal as a designer is to combat societies biggest communication issues.

My work on Nextdoor in particular, highlights the vast opportunity for technology to have a positive effect on civil life.
